Dear Class of '58 Polars,
Well, our 55th is now history...and we hope it was an enjoyable experience for each of you who attended!
This page highlights the happenings, photos, and videos from that fun-filled Minneapolis autumn weekend!
- The Friday, 9/27/13, kick-off event took place at the Park Tavern where approximately 80 fellow-'58 Polars and guests partook in the food and festivities. We're still awaiting photo/video submissions from this event, so if you have some, please e-mail the associated file(s) to us by clicking on: NHS '58 REUNION Multi-Media-Submission -- so that we can share them with our classmates!
- On Saturday, 9/28/13, the activites shifted to Grizzly's at Carlson Center in Plymouth. There, nearly 100 graduates/guests began arriving at around 5:00 PM. Grizzly's was kind enough to allow us plenty of hors-d'oeuvres prior to the individually-ordered/paid-for dinner menu items, and emcee, Denny Seltzer, ably shared his and other-Polar memories from back in our high school years.
One surprise highlight of the evening was when Denny Seltzer and Dave Garfin called Shel King via telephone to present him with a plaque for all of his work in keeping the class electronically connected via the class Website; facebook; and Google+ -- presences. Since Shel was not able to attend in person due to sickness in his family, the presentation to him was done via telephone. (It was originally planned to be done via Skype, but as Murphy's Law would have it, Grizzly's Wi-Fi system stopped working just before the presentation time! But, luckily, Darlene Malloy Thoen managed to make/publish a YouTube of it.)
We thank Joni Thyr Harrison and Shel King (remotely via Skype)-- for contributing to the below photos...and Darlene for contributing her above-mentioned award ceremony YouTube as well as her below "crowd-scan" YouTube.
Then on Sunday, 9/29 starting at about 10:15 AM, our classmates began arriving for an individually-paid-for brunch at the Crowne Plaza Plymouth Copenhagen Room. The room closed at 12:30 PM and the rest of the day/weekend was at the disgression of the classmates.
As of today's date, we don't have any photos/videos yet to display from this tasty and enjoyable Sunday Brunch event.
